Chart Drawing Speed

Hello, 

I'm excited to be trying this software out. I have just downloaded the demo and am exploring around on that. I have just created a chart and am trying to place stitches, but each individual stitch I click takes almost a full four seconds before it shows up which is exceedingly slow. Too slow to be functional. It seems to speed up if I make a smaller chart, but want to know if I can expect it to bog down that much on larger charts on the paid version as well. 

Second question: I am not seeing any "pick up and knit/purl" increase options, nor a "pick up and knit/purl" with a a "k/p2tog" to keep stitch count the same. Would these be available on the paid version?
